Right now, there’s a single smartphone shaking up the market: the brand-new Samsung Galaxy S9. The upgrade smartphone fans waited a year for, the S9 packs features competitors can’t match. From a generous 5.8-inch screen with vibrant display colors to a conveniently located fingerprint scanner, the S9 has some of the coolest tech upgrades seen in years.

Of course, with all of its bells and whistles, a new S9 or the larger S9+ comes with a high price tag. If you want to upgrade to the Samsung Galaxy S9 without breaking the bank, here’s where you can find the best deals.

T-Mobile

If you want to buy your Galaxy S9 outright, T-Mobile offers the lowest price at $720. You can also choose to buy your S9 over time by making payments of $30 per month for two years. T-Mobile also is offering a discount of up to $360 if you trade in a qualifying phone. There are numerous phones that qualify for the full $360 discount: all of the iPhone models from the iPhone 6s through iPhone 8, the Galaxy S7 and S8, the Note 8, and the LG V30 and V30+.

Many other phones qualify for a $200 discount when you trade them in. T-Mobile is also offering a buy-one-get-one promotional offer. You can receive a credit of $720 that you can use to get a second S9 or a steep discount on an S9+ when you purchase an S9.

Verizon

Verizon is offering a current deal that began on April 5 in which you can get an S9 for 50 percent off when you trade in a qualifying phone. The qualifying phones include the following:

Certain other trade-ins may qualify you for a 35 percent discount on a new Samsung Galaxy S9. These include any of the iPhone 6 models, the Galaxy S7 and one of the S6 models, the LG G5 or V20, the Moto Z Droid or Moto Z2 Play or the HTC 10. Without a qualifying trade-in phone, you can opt to pay $33.33 per month for 24 months for a new S9. Another option is to open a new line of service. When you do that, you can get a Mastercard gift card worth $150, and the card is able to be stacked with the trade-in phone discount.

AT&T

AT&T is rewarding DirectTV subscribers who have plans of at least $29.99 per month. If you are a DirectTV subscriber, you can receive half off of your S9 purchase. When you purchase your new S9 with AT&T’s installment plan, you can pay $26.34 per month for 24 months. You can receive a $150 credit when you open a new line with AT&T from one of its competitors. The company is also giving discounts of up to $350 from the cost of your S9 when you trade in a qualifying phone. The discounts from AT&T are stackable, meaning that if you transfer in a new line from a competitor and trade in a qualifying phone, you can get a total discount of up to $500 when you purchase a new S9 from AT&T.

Walmart

Walmart currently has the best offer for a new S9: straight up money off the retail price of the phone. This retailer will give you a discount of $150 off of a new S9 that you purchase in store. In order to get the discount, you must sign up for an installment plan with Verizon or AT&T. You are also able to combine the discount from Walmart with the promos that are offered by either AT&T or Verizon.

Best Buy

Best Buy is offering several different discounts when you purchase your S9 there. You can receive $100 off if you sign up for a contract with Sprint for 24 months. You can also receive a discount of up to $350 when you trade in a qualifying phone, which includes the Galaxy S8, S8+ and S8 Active phones and the iPhone 8, 8 Plus and X models. You can receive a $300 discount for trading in an iPhone 7, Galaxy S7, LG V30 or a Pixel 2. Finally, people who trade in an iPhone 6 series, a Galaxy S6 series, a Pixel phone, a Galaxy Note 5 or an LG V20 or G6 can receive a discount of $150 off of a new S9.

The new Galaxy S9’s many features are making it a very popular smartphone. By choosing to purchase your new S9 through one of these businesses, you’ll be able to secure the lowest price possible – and who doesn’t want to enjoy a new smartphone for less?

Like anything, it’s always a good idea to be aware of the latest research. We recommend comparing at least 3 or 4 options before making a final decision. Doing a search online is typically the quickest, most thorough way to discover all the pros and cons you need to keep in mind.
